Park Naturalist:($15.25) - responsible for developing and conducting interpretive programs that will increase the student's and visitor's awareness of their surrounding environment and foster the appreciation, enjoyment, and utilization of Delaware State Parks' cultural and natural resources.

Job Purpose
Under general supervision, manages the operation of a nature center, natural area, historical center, or related facility. Assists the Naturalist II in planning, organizing, and supervising nature and historical programs, activities, and events. Supervises programming and support staff.

This position involves developing, planning, marketing and implementing interpretive programs and activities that focus on the natural and cultural resources at Hungry Mother State Park for overnight guests, local groups and public schools. Description
Allen Marine Inc is seeking an outgoing and engaging Naturalist to deliver natural history presentations and guide passengers aboard wildlife and sightseeing cruises in Sitka, Alaska. The Naturalist works as part of a close-knit crew, providing commentary for up to 150 passengers, assisting with guest services, ensuring vessel cleanliness, and supporting safe and enjoyable tours.
Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver engaging tour narratives in collaboration with the duty captain, factoring in weather, sightings, tide, and season
• Lead passenger boarding and disembarking, provide safety and emergency orientation, and direct guests during emergencies
• Present natural history commentary on wildlife, glaciology, and Southeast Alaska’s environment via PA system
• Interact personally with guests and answer questions during tours
• Distribute snacks, beverages, and assist in the galley as needed (TAPS certification required to serve alcohol if 21+)
• Assist with docking, undocking, line handling, and mooring as directed
• Maintain vessel appearance, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety
