BENEFITS INFORMATION: For information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.com Position Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and monitoring warehouse activities including but not limited to: receiving, putaway consolidation, replenishment, picking, load checking, loading and shipping as well as inventory control while ensuring continuity, productivity, efficiency and superior service to customers, suppliers and distributors. Primary Responsibilities: • Direct, coordinate and monitor the daily activities & performance of warehouse workers to assure compliance of standard procedures, quality and safety. • Assure quality performance through proper staffing, effective communication and training. Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring and resolving conflict. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate. Conduct regular department or pre-shift meetings to foster employee engagement, communicate any changes to company policies and procedures, address employee concerns, foster idea sharing and suggestions for improvement. Participate in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations, corrective action and terminations, as necessary. • Continuously review warehouse procedures and recommend and/or modify operational structure to create a more efficient and productive operation. • Monitor departmental expenses. Provide necessary resources to support daily activities. Suggest and implement process improvements that will increase efficiency, productivity, safety and quality while reducing costs (i.e. overtime hours, building and machine maintenance cost). • Enforce all policy and procedures, including safety and housekeeping, in an effective and appropriate manner (i.e., pre-shift meetings, daily safety walk through, etc.). • Maintain reports and logs including: • Productivity Operations Report • Daily Supervisor End of Shift Walk-Through • Battery Watering Log • Weekly Safety Toolbox Talks • Provide & maintain a clean and safe working environment. Promote a safe working environment through safety tool box talks, monthly safety training and inspections. Coordinate efforts with Safety Department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and perform routine safety inspections. • Assure compliance of all company and local, state and federal regulatory agencies’ (i.e., OSHA) policies and regulations. Minimum Education: • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Experience: • 3 years of warehouse experience. • Experience with handheld RF unit. • Voice Recognition preferred but not required. • Knowledge of Powered Industrial trucks. Powered Industrial truck certification is required upon completion of internal training & testing within the first 2 weeks of being hired. • Must be familiar with OSHA regulations. Skills & Abilities: • Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures and practices; inventory control processes, procedures and practices; and inventoried product line specifications (dimensions, weight, etc.) • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively prepare and present reports and information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management and inter-department staff. Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner. • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and develop individuals and teams. Able to engage and lead team discussions and meetings. Understands team dynamics and works well within a team structure. Collaborative management style and strategic team player. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time. • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). • Experience with WMS-HighJump/PeopleSoft, Voice Recognition and RF devices a plus. Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors JOB SUMMARY This is an Operations position responsible for supervising the activities associated with night warehouse operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the supervision of order selection, product replenishment, order loading, ensuring safety and security of the warehouse and providing management and direction to assigned warehouse staff. RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervises the daily work and safety of employees engaged in order selection, product replenishment, order loading, including all warehouse functions, selectors, loaders and night forklift operators. • Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget. • Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed. • Administers the proper utilization of Company assets in support of the warehouse. • Coordinates required repairs with proper departments as necessary. • Review night warehouse functions and various warehouse productivity reporting. Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of changes within night warehouse. • Conducts shipping and loading audit daily ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed (including HAACP, food safety, and catch-weight documentation) and that material is handled and stored correctly with a minimum potential for loss. • Assist with monitoring sanitation and facility/racking damage to ensure a safe and clean warehouse. • Aid with the training of new associates, including cross-training of existing associates. • Preserves associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings. • Maintains on-going interaction. • Keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures. • Monitors associate morale. • Submit and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement. • Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures. • Organizes efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections. • Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required. • Execute management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations. • Performs the duties of employees supervised and other related duties as needed. • Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA, etc.) QUALIFICATIONS Education • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience. • 2 or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred. Experience • 1-3 years related experience and/or training. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations • Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months.
