This is an Air Traffic Control Specialist public notice for direct hiring authority for Enhanced Collegiate Training Initiative (E-CTI) program graduates only, or E-CTI students who are within 12 months of graduation. This announcement will serve as a resume repository that may be used to fill positions. Duties Help The Federal Aviation Administration has partnered with colleges and universities to establish the Enhanced Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative AT-CTI (E-CTI). This program establishes requirements for colleges and universities to provide equivalent curriculum and training to the FAA Academy. Successful graduates that meet all qualifications to include a well-qualified result on the Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA), employment eligibilities, and pre-employment requirements such as medical screening, and security will be placed directly to Air Traffic facilities to begin on-the-job training. These positions are responsible for controlling live air traffic in support of public safety and our national air space. Air Traffic Control Specialists in the Terminal option control air traffic at airports and give pilots taxiing and takeoff instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice based on their own observations and information from the National Weather Service, Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), flight service stations, pilots, and other sources. They transfer control of aircraft to the ARTCC controller when the aircraft leaves assigned airspace, and they receive control of aircraft coming into assigned airspace. Air Traffic Control Specialists in the En Route (Center) option give aircraft instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice regarding flight conditions while enroute between airports. They provide separation between aircraft flying within the Federal airways or operating into or out of airports. This is an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of air traffic through the nations airspace. Air Traffic Control Specialist (NOTAM)

Serves as one of several Air Traffic Control Specialists (NOTAM Specialists) in the Unites States Notice to Airmen Office (USNOF) who provide technical expertise in the administration of the Federal NOTAM System and the NOTAM Entry System. Responsible for reviewing and disseminating NOTAMs in accordance with FAA policy and procedures associated with NOTAM entry, the United States NOTAM System (USNS), and the Federal NOTAM System (FNS). Duties Help As a subject matter expert, the Specialist reviews NOTAM data for discrepancies and compliance with applicable directives. The incumbent performs routine quality control checks in concert with International Civilian and Military NOTAM offices to maintain the integrity of the US NOTAM database. NOTAM specialists are responsible for making recommendations on national and international procedures to create NOT AM policy and are experts in maintaining and disseminating aeronautical data in accordance with domestic and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) NOTAM standards. The incumbent provides On-The-Job training to developmental NOTAM specialists and performs NOTAM Specialist in Charge (NSIC) duties as required. As a member of the Joint Air Traffic Operations Center (JATOC) the Specialist is responsible for fulfilling requests from ATCSCC personnel to assist with aviation related investigations and special events. The incumbent receives administrative and operational supervision from the Operations Supervisor of the NOTAM Office. The specialist is allowed considerable discretion to determine innovative solutions to NOTAM situations not covered by directives. We are currently looking for 2 (TWO) experienced Air Traffic Controllers to serve as an Instructor II (Terminal) on join our Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team, partnering with SAIC at Charleston ATCT/Approach (CHS) supporting air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). • 1 (One) Full-Time 40hr/week • 1 (One) Part-Time 32/week (This position will require the candidate to initially work a Full-Time schedule until they reach certification status; hours will then be approximately 24 – 32 hours weekly.) The CTS Instructor is a hands-on position that requires the candidate to deliver the highest quality classroom effectively and consistently and/or simulation laboratory training to a wide variety of students including developmental air traffic controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPC). The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for ensuring that air traffic control specialists provide the flying public with a high level of safety and professionalism.
