Job Description
The Third-Party Manufacturing (3PM) Engineering Intern provides entry level support to the team by assisting with data collection, basic analysis, documentation handling, and coordination of small, low risk tasks under direct supervision. This role is designed to help build foundational skills in manufacturing processes, supplier management, and data integrity while contributing to routine engineering and administrative activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Technical and Analytical Support: Collects and organizes data related to third party manufacturing (spend, supplier performance, and basic cost information).
- Assists in checking data for completeness and accuracy under guidance from engineers.
- Helps prepare simple summaries or reports for internal use, using provided templates and tools.
- Supplier Modernization Support: Supports engineers by gathering basic technical or commercial information needed for suppliers.
- Technical Documentation: Collects and uploads required documents (technical data sheets, specifications, drawings) into 3M systems; ensures files are complete and properly named according to established standards.
- Education and Development: Participates in structured on the job learning to build technical, analytical, and professional skills; attends team meetings and engages in knowledge sharing opportunities to learn 3M processes and systems.
- Other duties as assigned; percentage of time may vary.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Analytical capability with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organize data and prepare basic analyses.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and interest in data tools.
