PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The HR Administrator will provide entry-level support to the Human Resources department by assisting with basic administrative tasks and helping to maintain HR records and systems. This role is ideal for a young professional looking to gain practical experience in HR through the Yes4Youth Learnership Program.

The key responsibilities of the position are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Assist with posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and preparing recruitment documentation.
  • Help maintain employee files and ensure records are up to date.
  • Capture basic data into HR systems and spreadsheets.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Respond to simple employee queries or direct them to the appropriate HR contact.
  • Assist with organizing training sessions and HR events.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HR policies and labour legislation.
  • Support general office duties such as filing, scanning, and document tracking.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, always upholding Quality, Trust, and Security.

To be considered for this role under the "Yes4Youth" Learnership program, the following requirements are non-negotiable

  • Ideal candidates should be unemployed at the time of contracting.
  • Must qualify as Youth candidates and therefore must be between the age of 18 - 34 (Must not be turning 35 during the program)
  • Must meet the definition of "Black People," as defined in the Broad-Based Black Empowerment Act 53 of 2003, as amended by Act 46 of 213.
  • Must not have previously participated in a "Yes4Youth" program.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 years or less relevant experience in a similar role (internship or learnership experience will be considered).
  • Experience with HR software, SAGE 300 People System is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of South African labour laws.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding of HR principles and South African labour laws.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
