Work Integrated Technical Learner

Position Purpose

The Work Integrated Trainee is to provide practical workplace experience to students or recent graduates, helping them apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting. This role is designed to enhance employability by offering hands on training, mentorship, and exposure to industry specific tasks. The WIL trainee programme is conducted over a period of 12 months.

Position Outputs
  • Assist in specific projects within a department or work stream.
  • Perform routine operational tasks under supervision.
  • Support administrative functions, including documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes.
  • Shadow experienced professionals to gain practical insights.
  • Engage in problem solving activities to develop analytical skills.
  • Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand business needs.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and project progress.
  • Serve as a central contact point for queries and assistance.
  • Conduct market research, data collection, and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations using MS Office tools.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
  • University of Technology students: B Eng Tech (S4/S5) - completed all theoretical subjects on Electronics and Industrial.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Preference will be given to applicants considered as South African Youth (under the age of 35).
  • Preference will be given to people with disability.
  • No bursary obligation.
  • Proof of confirmation / letter from the institution (recent).
  • Proof of certified Matric, Academic Record and ID.
