What You Will Learn During the Internship

The programme provides practical experience in transport operations and logistics administration. Interns will work with experienced logistics professionals and gain exposure to daily activities that keep transport operations running smoothly. Areas of learning include:

  • Transport Administration - managing large volumes of operational information (trip records, vehicle information, driver records).
  • Route Planning - daily route scheduling, delivery planning, vehicle allocation, load planning, delivery timing, and route optimisation to reduce costs and improve service.
  • Fleet Management - vehicle tracking, operational reporting, and related skills.
  • Driver Coordination - communicating delivery instructions and supporting frontline operations.
  • Logistics Reporting - performance reporting, operational statistics, KPI monitoring, and delivery performance analysis.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Processes - vehicle files, SOPs, and safety requirements; understanding regulatory frameworks.
Internship Responsibilities

Successful interns will assist the transport and logistics team in various operational activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Route Planning Support - assist with route scheduling and load planning processes.
  • Transport Administration - capture transport information, maintain trip sheets, and record collection and delivery details.
  • Driver Communication - liaise with drivers and escalate operational issues as needed.
  • Documentation Management - maintain transport records, process trip documentation, and organise invoices and paperwork.
  • Fleet Monitoring - support reporting activities and monitor operational performance.
  • Compliance Support - maintain vehicle files, support SOP adherence and compliance procedures.
  • Customer Service Support - assist with customer communication and help resolve service issues.
  • General Logistics Administration - provide administrative support and maintain records.
Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Transport Management.

Computer Skills: Basic MS Excel, Microsoft Word, and data capturing abilities.

Communication Skills: Customer service abilities; ability to interact with drivers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
