WELDER/WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Welder/Technician to join our Logistics Workshop, where reliability and operational continuity are essential. This role is responsible for conducting daily preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles, as well as completing specialised welding and fabrication work required on fleet units and related equipment. The position demands strong technical expertise and an understanding of the unique pressures and safety requirements within a busy logistics and fleet maintenance environment.
Key Performance areas Safety & Compliance- Adherence to workplace safety regulations and all PPE requirements.
- Knowledge of welding safety, fire prevention, and hazard control.
- Compliance with ISO, ASME, AWS and other applicable quality standards.
- Ability to identify risks and implement corrective measures.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability.
- Ability to identify fabrication or equipment defects and recommend solutions.
- Commitment to accuracy, precision, and high quality workmanship.
- Conducts quality checks and completes required documentation.
- Ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines.
- Solid understanding of maintenance schedules and workflow processes.
- Effective time management and prioritisation of tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality output.
- Accredited trade qualification in welding or relevant technical field.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and technical standards.
- Clear communication with supervisors, engineers, and fellow team members.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Accurate reporting of tasks, defects, and completed work.
- Willingness to support and mentor junior technicians or welders.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
