Warehouse Team Leader - (Late Shift)
Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for the position of Warehouse Team Leader (Late Shift), based at our Warehouse in the West Rand. Overall purpose of the job: Provide effective team leadership within a designated warehouse section and support daily operations, workload coordination, and achievement of business targets. Ensure operational efficiency, quality standards, and customer requirements are met. This is a late shift position and the candidate must be able to work late shift hours and reside in the West Rand or Soweto.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a team to meet operational and customer demand.
- Train, mentor, and guide warehouse staff within area of responsibility.
- Assist Management to ensure inventory accuracy and correct stock movement recording.
- Maintain accuracy and functionality of warehouse systems and equipment including scanners, printers and scales.
- Identify operational or system improvements and recommend solutions.
- Resolve issues within authority and escalate when necessary.
- Produce operational reports and productivity statistics as required on consumables, lunch breaks, overpicks, time and attendance.
- Review ways to reduce waste, idle time, and inefficiencies.
- Ensure machinery and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure staff compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure working environment.
- Support time, attendance, and people management processes.
- Communicate targets, priorities, and expectations to staff.
- Monitor performance and report progress to management.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport partners.
- Participate in stock takes, meetings, and training sessions.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) - Essential.
- Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a warehouse environment & experience working late shift or shift hours.
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar leadership role.
- Minimum of 2 years' general warehouse experience.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP, Qwix, or similar).
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Forklift certification (advantageous).
- Experience and understanding, picking, checking, packing, invoices, end to end warehousing duties
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
