Utilities Engineer, East London

We are seeking a Utilities Engineer for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related fields
• Experience in GCC Factories in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years in utilities engineering within an FMCG or manufacturing environment, preferably in beverage or food processing
• Hands on experience with CO2 systems, carbonation processes, and plant utilities (e.g., boilers, refrigeration, compressed air) essential
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools, PLC systems and maintenance software

• Ensure quality execution of maintenance and lead the standard for the utilities plant
• Development of reliability plan and analysis of plant performance
• Implement cost saving projects
• Evaluate and sign off new equipment and plant modifications
• Identify energy savings options and implement upgrades
• Drive productivity and utilize WCM methodologies to optimise plant performance
• Oversee the operation, maintenance and optimisation of plant utilities
• Manage plant inspections, start up and shut down procedures
• Ensure CO2 quality meets required standards
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and conduct root cause analysis
• Collaborate with teams and provide regular reports
• Execution of new technologies, processes and innovative solutions
• Development of business plan objectives
• Enforce SHE protocols, conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance/adherence to QFSHE policies and procedures
• Maintain exception personal hygiene and oversee contamination control
• Follow incident reporting procedures and stay updated with GMP's
• Attend and enforce training and ensure hygiene maintenance
