Position Purpose

Position Purpose: We are looking for a talented UI / Website Designer to join our team on a 9 month contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience designing websites within the financial services sector, who is confident working with design systems, and who brings a refined eye for interface design and digital craft.

You will collaborate closely with UX, product, and development teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences that align with brand, accessibility, and platform guidelines.

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

  • Design high-quality, responsive website interfaces for financial sector digital products. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and UX designers to translate requirements into intuitive UI solutions.
  • Work extensively in Figma to produce design files, prototypes, documentation, and handover assets.
  • Work with the WebOps team to review and approve live page designs before publication.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across components and patterns.
  • Apply and maintain design tokens; familiarity with Token Studio is advantageous.
  • Prepare clear documentation for handover to engineering teams.
  • Conduct visual QA checks to ensure design integrity during implementation.
  • Work within an Agile or hybrid delivery environment.
Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in UI or Website Design roles.
  • Demonstrable experience working in the financial sector (banks, fintech, insurance, investment platforms, etc.).
  • A strong, curated portfolio showcasing website design projects with clear rationale, visual craft, and modern design sensibilities.
  • Strong expertise in Figma, including components, auto layout, variants, responsive design, and prototyping.
  • Experience working with design systems - either consuming or contributing to them.
  • Good understanding of UX principles and ability to collaborate effectively with UX teams.
  • Strong knowledge of typography, layout, grids, spacing, and digital brand expression.
  • Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and deliver to a high standard.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
  • Familiarity with financial compliance or regulated industry design constraints.
  • Basic understanding of frontend development (HTML/CSS) for better handover communication.
Working environment
  • Hybrid/In-office 4 days per week.
