Job Description

The purpose of the Treasury Lead role is to effectively manage and lead the Global Business Services' (GBS) Treasury transactional team to achieve targets and key performance indicators in line with Treasury objectives including ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, bank reconciliations, payment execution and managing the month end close process to meet business operation's needs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Financial Reporting (Statutory and Management Reporting):
    • Manage the Treasury requirements for the GBS scope to ensure that deadlines with auditors are agreed and met to avoid any audit over runs.
  • Accounting and Reconciliations:
    • Manage the bank reconciliation activities for the group (managed by the GBS) to ensure accuracy and reliability of the accounting information on Banks.
    • Bank account rationalisation and process automation.
    • Monitor SNOW requests relating to bank accounting (JNL's) and reconciliation requests.
    • Manage month-end and year-end close activities within the respective area to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
    • Ensure all treasury transactions are accurately recorded via the TRM system for maximum benefit.
    • Develop plans to reduce financial risks in line with treasury policies and best practices.
  • Payments Execution & Cash Management:
    • Monitoring payment process accuracy rates for both manual and automated payments.
    • Monitoring adherence to payment dates and reporting on deviations, specifically immediate payments.
    • Establish business controls that allows tracking, overseeing and management of vendor queries for payments executed by the GBS and payment disputes within approved SLA's.
  • Capability Development:
    • Ensure capability development through inspiring, motivating, upskilling, and providing training for the team on both functional and personal expertise.
    • Identify and drive simplification initiatives to improve delivery ensuring that SLAs are in place and adhered to.
    • Develop specialist knowledge with respect to reporting thereby enabling simplification. Drive the use of bank reconciliation software to achieve such simplification.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • NQF level7 qualification (Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting) required.
  • Chartered Accountant CA (SA) advantageous.
  • 5 years' Finance, BPI and /or Treasury Oil company management experience required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of Treasury processes, systems, automation tools, and workflow optimisation advantageous.
  • Ability to lead, influence and deliver results in a fast paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communicator and well developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
