We are currently looking for a Trailer Technician who will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of company trailers to ensure roadworthiness, safety compliance, and minimal downtime within the logistics fleet.

  • Trade Test Certificate as a Trailer Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician (advantage)
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working on trailers in a logistics or transport environment
  • Strong knowledge of air brake systems
  • Welding experience (CO / arc welding)
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Valid driver's licence (Code 10 or 14 - advantage)
  • Willingness to work overtime and stand by when required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, service, and repair all types of trailers (flatbeds, tautliners, tankers, skeletal trailers, etc.)
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults on trailers
  • Repair and maintain:
    • Braking systems (air brakes)
    • Suspension systems
    • Axles, hubs, bearings, and landing legs
    • Lights, wiring, and electrical systems
    • Chassis, frames, doors, and bodywork
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs where required
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Ensure trailers comply with road traffic and safety regulations
  • Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and inspection checklists
  • Attend breakdowns when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop
  • Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies.
