In our tech family, you'll partner with curious minds, diverse perspectives, and experts who thrive on solving meaningful industry challenges.As part of the CDO Payment Settlement & SWIFT team, you will play a critical role in ensuring FirstRand remains compliant, competitive, and aligned with evolving industry standards, regulatory changes, and payments ecosystem shifts. Role Purpose To lead and execute industry-related testing across the payments value chain, ensuring FirstRand systems, channels, and solutions comply with regulatory, scheme, and clearinghouse requirements. This role will champion end to end validation, cross BU alignment, and high quality test execution for industry, compliance, and settlement related initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Manage and lead testing for industry-wide projects, including regulatory changes, system upgrades, and payment scheme updates.• Participate in industry forums, working groups, and discussions to maintain and deepen subject-matter expertise.• Analyse industry requirements and translate them into clear, actionable internal S&S test scenarios.• Review and validate industry-provided test cases, identifying gaps and risks early.• Ensure FirstRand testing is aligned with standards set by regulators, PASA, clearing houses, SWIFT, and partner institutions.• Understand and map end to end payment and settlement flows across FirstRand BUs.• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of S&S solutions.• Support S&S Test Analysts (TAs) in delivering test scope, with dotted line accountability.• Track end-to-end testing progress and prepare status, risk, and readiness reports for industry submission.• Work closely with Project Managers, Technical Teams, Test Analysts, and Business Units to align test plans and resolve issues.• Facilitate test reviews, feedback sessions, and walkthroughs with impacted BUs.• Engage effectively with external stakeholders, including regulators, scheme bodies, and partner banks.• Identify testing risks, dependencies, and impacts across systems.• Ensure alignment with IT governance, including documentation, audit standards, and task logging.• Promote continuous improvement by leveraging automation tools, frameworks, and reusable test assets. Minimum Requirements • Certificate or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.• ISTQB Certification (Foundation or higher).• 3-5 years' experience in software testing, preferably within financial services.• 1-2 years at junior specialist level.• Strong understanding of industry testing cycles, payment systems, settlement processes, SWIFT, integrations, and defect management.
