ABOUT THE ROLE Job PurposeThe ideal Technical Supervisor / Planner delivers strong technical and safety support on-site while effectively engaging with client stakeholders. They are adaptable and resourceful, thriving in a fast-changing environment. Above all, they play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality on-site operations.
Responsibilities:- Liaise with tyre suppliers on supply, performance, and warranties.
- Recommend improvements to optimise tyre performance, costs, and operations.
- Ensure contract deliverables meet high quality and service standards.
- Maintain and audit compliance with OMS standards, policies, and documentation.
- Provide technical support, reporting, and input on equipment and contracts.
- Conduct site audits, tool inspections, and equipment calibrations.
- Plan and schedule work, including forecasting tyre requirements and asset management.
- Deliver technical training and evaluate personnel competency.
- Enforce health, safety, and compliance requirements, including PPE, inductions, and procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture through audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education, Master, other certification:- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
- A valid drivers license
- Related industry field certificates or relevant experience.
- 4 years or more of Off the Road (OTR) earthmoving experience
- Broad base workplace safety experience - NOSA certificate accepted only
Preferred:
- 2 years of Supervisory experience.
- Experience in the Off the Road Tyre Services industry.
- Certificate in Risk management
- Bachelor of Engineering degree
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
- Sound understanding of the working mechanism of the tools or the machinery they are handling.
- good supervisory skills and ability to pay attention to the details.
- Strong understanding of mining safety regulations.
