Job Description

Position Outputs
  • Minimise expenses by staying within operational budget and obtaining value for money
  • Work with facilities team in order to develop innovative and efficient processes for maintenance.
  • Keep maintenance record, file documents and instruction manuals
  • Advise managers on cost effective ways to perform maintenance and repairs
  • Support Facility Manager with producing a three year, five year and ten year preventative maintenance plan and execution thereof.
  • Implement planned / preventative / emergency maintenance in line with the strategic requirements set out.
  • Develop and manage an effective asset control register for selected assets
  • Monitor and manage contractor performance
  • Assist managers in move management and space allocation
  • Implement green initiatives to ensure sustainable use of energy and water
  • Ensure proactive maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure buildings comply with all regulatory and safety requirements
  • Sound Business communication and presentation skills
  • Sound MS Office knowledge, and Archibus knowledge
  • Collating monthly reports and maintenance data
  • Achieve proactive cost effective maintenance
  • Create a client service culture
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance carried out.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • National Certificate Grade 12
  • Preferred: Recognised Higher Certificate (NQF 2 and above) or Diploma in technical field, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering
  • Facilities related technical and on the job experience of at least three to five years.
