TEACHER (3-4- Years)

Responsible for the growth, sensory development, and overall well being of children in their class (aged between 3 to 4 years of age). This role focuses on bridging the gap between infancy and early childhood through structured play and nurturing routines.

• Holistic Care: Assume all educational and caregiving responsibilities (including feeding and hygiene routines) for children in your class.
• Trust & Security: Promote feelings of security and trust through a safe, loving, and fun environment where toddlers feel brave enough to explore.
• HighScope Integration: Use the HighScope learner centred approach to plan sensory and "messy play" activities that stimulate development at the appropriate level.
• Parent Partnership: Communicate regularly and honestly with parents regarding daily routines, milestones (walking, talking, social skills), and overall well being.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Work positively with other staff members to plan age appropriate activities and maintain school wide standards.
• Professional Growth: Participate in regular development sessions and reflect on your teaching practice to lead your personal growth strategy.
• Safety: Ensure the classroom is a hazard free zone tailored to the curious nature of 3-4 year olds.
• Physical Requirement Note: This is a physically demanding role requiring standing for extended periods, bending, running, sitting on the floor, lifting children, and actively engaging in both indoor and outdoor play.

• Education: Relevant Early Childhood Development (ECD) qualification (NQF Level 4 or 5 preferred).
• First Aid: Current First Aid certification is a significant advantage.
• Security: Clear criminal record.
• Experience: 2-4 years' experience teaching or caring for children in the 3-4 year age bracket.
• Skills: Proven understanding of toddler developmental milestones.
