Job Description

TERRITORY: Johannesburg, South Africa

To integrate into an existing team supporting surgical in-theatre cases in the Spine Product Portfolio. Working closely with the salespeople and all key stakeholders in the area, including spinal surgeons, scrub sisters, theatre stock controllers, theatre matrons, etc. Add value in developing and maintaining customer relationships, offer technical and clinical training and offer solutions in the OR to meet the customers' and users' needs. Outstanding after-sales service and support is vital.

SPINE DIVISION

  • Work closely with the salesperson and sales manager to identify customer requirements, potential support, and a sales plan for the territory.
  • Develop positive relationships with end users and customers building firm foundation for ongoing business.
  • Offer professional and technical advice to solve customer technology / medical device requirements and offer solutions promoting the company's brand.
  • Responsible for managing surgical loan sets, ensuring all instruments are complete, properly accounted for, and maintained in a sterile condition in compliance with infection control standards.
  • Ensure all surgical loan sets are complete, with every instrument accurately accounted for before and after procedures.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to track loan-sets, schedule deliveries, and manage returns promptly.
  • Perform thorough inspections for damage or wear, and arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of loan set usage, sterilization cycles, and inventory status to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with surgical teams to confirm set availability and readiness for scheduled procedures.
  • Ensure that orders received are placed immediately.
  • Ensure invoicing and delivery is commissioned as per company procedures.
  • Provide in-service training creating lasting and correct usage of the medical devices used to obtain approval for access through the relevant channels within the hospital groups / clinical facility prior to engagement with customers / users/ support personnel.
  • Acquire understanding of relevant clinical studies and theory and utilise the correct sales materials (aids) in an effective manner.
  • Attend and actively participate in company meetings as required.
  • Exceed our customer's expectations during specialized operating theatre cases.
Requirements
  • Must have own reliable vehicle as well as a valid driver's license.
  • Able to scrub-up in theatre and be part of the surgical team (gown and glove), with particular focus on 'spine cases', (training will be provided).
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Do basic administration including weekly activity reports.
  • Well presented.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
  • Follow instructions and work well in a team.
  • Managing consignment stock and being accountable for variances.
  • Providing feedback requested by management.
  • Compliance with Quality Management Systems.
  • Candidates must have their own reliable Vehicle.
  • Scrub Technician qualifications would be an advantage however we will look at candidates with a BSc degree or similar.
