Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To assess and coordinate emergency vehicles or calls to ensure a timeous response to incidents logged on Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).

To assist in receiving, prioritise, and log emergency and non emergency telephone calls and to determine the appropriate level of EMS assistance needed to be dispatched.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Grade 12

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 - 3 years dispatching in an EMS contact centre

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
  • Dispatch vehicles according to the CAD system
  • Assist in receiving, prioritise, logging, and processing all calls and alerts received
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Dispatching of vehicles
  • Emergency Care
  • Typing Skills
  • English language (written and verbal)
  • Geographical locations
  • Telephonic and email etiquette
