Supply Chain Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Cape Town.
The RoleSupport the global network of delivering products and services across the entire supply chain, from raw materials to end customers. Engage in design, planning, execution, control and supervision of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply and demand and measuring performance globally.
Responsibilities- Identify and appoint supplier partners.
- Establish an adequate program to ensure supplied materials conform to set specifications either by inspection or management of Quality at suppliers.
- Maintain an Approved Supplier List and only purchase from approved Suppliers.
- Negotiate and set standards of supply and pricing for third party materials and services.
- Warehouse raw materials, WIP and Finished Goods inventories.
- Allocate and maintain material handling equipment.
- Review product demand forecasts.
- Master Production Scheduling.
- Sales and Operations Planning.
- Materials Requirement Planning.
- Application of Lean and Six Sigma in reducing and eliminating waste and variances in the supply chain.
- Management, motivation and development of departmental staff.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Liaise with the forklift driver effectively and monitor their work standards together with the Stores team members.
- Manage stock and ensure adequate stock rotation is practiced.
- Cycle counts and Stock counts.
- Filing of documents - record control measures.
- Management of SLA's for all suppliers.
- Review costing on key raw materials.
- Ensure that a plan is drawn up and executed.
- Manage the planning and communicate it to Production.
- Improvement of OTIF to >95%.
- Clarify roles of the team of SCM and set up a succession plan.
- Packing and shipping requirements of various countries as well as importation permits.
- Customer complaints are routed through this function.
- Sales staff requires extensive information on materials and process as well as availability dates.
- OTIF delivery to customer.
- Ensure all ad hoc expenses outside of the BOM are communicated to Supply Chain.
- Compliance to local and international standards as well as the Department of Agriculture requirements.
- GMP and QA compliance.
- Continual communication with suppliers, customers and sales staff.
- Ensuring that group financial standards and internal controls are set up and maintained, any over expenditure to be approved by the Value Stream Leader.
- Stock evaluation and monitoring to be controlled by SCM.
- Implementation of International Regulations for import and export.
- Forecasting and sales order interpretation and review.
- Compile and manage strategic planning of the business.
- Implementation of strategic supplier relationships and understanding of key suppliers and support they require.
- Co ordination and joint co operation with other supply chain management within BBI Solutions.
- Continuous improvement.
- Training of other staff members to ensure skills are not residing in one person.
- Innovative and results oriented with a can do attitude to challenges and problem solving.
- Supply Chain Specific Certification (CSCP, APICS, CPIM, CPSM, CTL, SAPICS).
- Experience in a FMCG environment.
- Experience in logistics within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a cGMP pharmaceutical environment would be advantageous.
- Experience in price negotiations within a manufacturing and costing environment.
- Experience in ERP/MRP systems within a manufacturing environment.
- ERP experience - planning and financial system - SAGE would be advantageous.
