Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join the Coega, Port Elizabeth team.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all logistics and distribution activities across local and export markets
  • Oversee warehousing, transportation, and distribution to ensure optimal stock flow and on-time delivery
  • Manage third-party logistics providers (3PLs), transporters, clearing agents, and freight forwarders
  • Monitor and optimise logistics costs, fleet utilisation, and route planning
  • Manage export logistics processes including documentation, customs clearance, Incoterms, and international shipping
  • Ensure compliance with South African export regulations, customs requirements, and destination country regulations
  • Coordinate with clearing agents and freight forwarders for sea, air, and road freight
  • Manage export lead times, container planning, and cross-border distribution (SADC and international markets)
  • Manage high-volume, fast-moving stock with tight delivery timelines and shelf-life constraints
  • Collaborate with Sales, Demand Planning, Production, and Finance to align forecasts and stock availability
  • Ensure compliance with OHSA, road transport regulations, and company safety standards
  • Implement and monitor SOPs for warehousing, distribution, and export processes
  • Manage risk, insurance claims, loss prevention, and damage control
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in Supply Chain Management in the Agriculture / FMCG
  • Proven export logistics experience, including cross-border shipments and international trade
  • Experience managing warehouses, transport operations, and 3PLs
  • Strong knowledge of South African transport, customs, and export regulations
  • Strong understanding of FMCG distribution models and high-volume logistics
  • Experience with Syspro or similar system
  • Experience managing a large team
  • Candidate must reside in the Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage area
