Job Description

The Student Recruitment Advisor drives student enrolments by engaging prospective students, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable programmes. The role focuses on converting qualified leads, delivering excellent advisory experience, and maintaining strong relationships to achieve monthly and annual recruitment targets.

Main Purpose of the Job

To generate enrolments by proactively contacting leads, advising on programme options, guiding applicants through the enrolment process, and closing enrolments while upholding service excellence and compliance. The Student Recruitment Advisor supports the National Student Recruitment Strategy and contributes directly to growth objectives.

The following are the primary areas of responsibility and their estimated percentage of time:

  • Student Lead Conversion & Enrolments (50%)
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Building (20%)
  • Student Recruitment Target Achievement & Reporting (15%)
  • Process Adherence & Compliance (10%)
Key Responsibilities 1. Student Lead Conversion & Enrolments (50%)
  • Engage prospects via inbound/outbound calls, email, WhatsApp, and in person enquiries.
  • Conduct needs analysis and recommend fit for purpose programmes, entry requirements, and pathways.
  • Manage lead follow ups and pipeline stages to reduce time to enrolment.
  • Convert prospective students through clear communication of fees, documentation, and next steps.
2. Customer Engagement & Relationship Building (20%)
  • Build rapport and trust with prospects and enrolled students through timely, accurate guidance.
  • Handle objections professionally; escape complex queries where appropriate.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, consistently communicating the institution's value proposition.
3. Recruitment Target Achievement & Reporting (15%)
  • Meet/exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets (enrolments, conversion rate, revenue/fees).
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records of activities and outcomes.
  • Provide daily/weekly dashboards and insights to the Student Recruitment Team Lead/Regional Manager.
4. Process Adherence & Compliance (10%)
  • Capture all leads, interactions, and enrolment documentation accurately in the CRM.
  • Follow internal recruitment procedures, pricing rules, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain data integrity and comply with POPIA and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders, Regional Managers, and cross functional teams (Admissions, Finance, Student Support).
  • Participate in product training, recruitment coaching, and market/competitor refreshers.
  • Share feedback from prospects to improve campaigns, messaging, and processes.
Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) required.
  • Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field advantageous.
Experience
  • 2+ years in consultative sales/recruitment (education, insurance, telecoms, or services advantageous).
  • Demonstrated success in converting leads and achieving targets.

  • Persuasive consultative engagement; strong objection handling and closing ability.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and provide student centric solutions.
Target Driven & Organisational Skills
  • Comfortable working to daily activity metrics and monthly targets.
  • Strong pipeline discipline, follow through, and time management.
Technical & Reporting Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Comfortable with CRM systems and basic reporting/dashboards.
