Job Title: Field Service Store / Driver

We are seeking a Field service store man and driver to join our team into the field service business line.

You will be responsible for executing Field service tool room activities at our Alrode repair centre, providing tool inspections, tool deliveries as needed, arranging calibration on tooling and process the necessary issue of tooling as required.

In this position, you will report to the Field Service Manager.

This position is mainly located in Alrode, Alberton.

TEAM, YOU BELONG TO

You will join a team of technicians dedicated to maintenance for reactive and preventative maintenance and repairs. We are currently conducting mechanical maintenance work of crushers, screens, floatation cells, conditioners, pumps, pipes, grinding mills, thickeners, filters, conveyors, and other crucial areas of the plant to ensure continued operation.

We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as sub-contractors and Local Field Service Support teams. Our team culture is all about excellent customer service on Metso Equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You are responsible for the following per your allocated area of responsibility:

  • Work as a member of a FSE team for reactive and preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain and tool issue control.
  • Delivery and collection of tooling as required by the field service team.
  • Perform all tool issues in a planned and organized manner, follow instructions and plans, and complete work as scheduled.
  • Ensure that tool requirements meet all statutory requirements and company standards.
  • Housekeeping duties of the tool room maintenance area.
  • In cooperation with other FSE personnel ensure the optimization of tool performance and continued development of site tool requirements.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all SHEQ regulations and standards for the tool store and equipment and ensure compliance with statutory and other regulations as required by law.
  • Continually review and where necessary suggest changes that will improve the department's tool safety, tool quality, and tool efficiency performance.
  • Other duties as directed by the FSE Manager.
  • Maintaining safety standards within the tool working environment.
  • Willingness to assist in additional reasonable tasks on hand.
  • Maximize performance on all equipment.
  • Complete job cards, tool issue via tool system, and tool inspection.
  • Maintain calibration reports and certifications.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Minimum 3 year driving and delivery experience with a good understanding of basic tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, with a drive and performance orientation.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Valid driver's licence with a PDP as an additional advantage.
  • A self motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication, co operation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to internal and external environmental conditions, noise, hazards.
  • Must reside within the Gauteng district; nearer to Alrode Alberton will be an additional advantage.
  • Will to take breakdown and call out calls in a timely manner.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and administrative skills.
  • Good analytical skills able to convert raw data into communicable reporting.
  • Willing to actively engage in problem solving.
  • Ability to effectively communicate defined reliability guidelines to the customers.
  • Capable to identify improvement opportunities that deliver value to the business based on performed analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with additional languages considered a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint.
