Job Description

As a Store Assistant at our Cape Town International Airport store, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the store. This role requires an organized, proactive individual with strong attention to detail, assisting both the sales team and customers to ensure the smooth running of the store.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Support: Assist customers by answering inquiries, directing them to the appropriate sales consultant, and ensuring they have a positive store experience.
  • Stock Management: Assist in receiving deliveries, unpacking, counting, and replenishing stock on the sales floor and in storage.
  • Merchandising: Ensure that all jewellery displays are beautifully presented and in line with Browns' merchandising standards.
  • Store Maintenance: Keep the store neat, organized, and clean, ensuring a luxurious and welcoming environment.
  • Administrative Support: Handle basic administrative duties such as filing, organizing receipts, and assisting with point-of-sale systems.
  • Security Awareness: Be vigilant and assist in ensuring the store's security protocols are followed to protect stock and customers.
  • Assisting Sales Team: Provide support to the sales team by helping with packaging, managing customer requests, and ensuring smooth transactions.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous retail or store assistant experience preferred, particularly in luxury or high-end retail.
  • Customer Focused: Strong customer service skills, with the ability to assist and engage with international clientele.
  • Organized: Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and maintain the store's presentation.
  • Team Player: A positive attitude, willing to assist colleagues and contribute to the team's overall success.
  • Presentation: Professional appearance, consistent with the luxury brand image of Browns.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required in the airport environment.
Educational Requirements:
  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of retail operations and stock management
