Specialist: Data Science and Advanced Analytics EnablementResponsible for driving BCX's data analytical maturity by developing predictive, prescriptive, and diagnostic models that support strategic and operational decision making.
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions- Identify high value analytical use cases that support cost optimisation, digital transformation, customer experience, service performance, risk management and commercial growth.
- Develop predictive, prescriptive, diagnostic and optimisation models using approved tools and enterprise data sources, applying machine learning where appropriate.
- Translate business questions into structured analytical hypotheses, experiment designs and modelling specifications that produce actionable insights.
- Build and maintain modelling assets including feature libraries, reusable notebooks, training datasets and algorithm pipelines aligned to BCX data governance standards.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Enterprise Data Platform teams to ensure data readiness, quality, semantic alignment and robust pipeline integration.
- Evaluate model performance using validation techniques, scenario testing, accuracy metrics and bias assessments to ensure reliability and responsible AI application.
- Present findings to technical and non technical stakeholders through clear storytelling, visualisation and practical interpretation, enabling confident decision making.
- Automate insight delivery through Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and digital platforms where appropriate, while embedding analytics frameworks, ethical standards and capability uplift to institutionalise a data driven culture across BTE.

Minimum QualificationsThree-year degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science/Applied Mathematics or related field.
Experience- At least Five (5) years' experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics in a complex business or technology environment.
Agile certification is beneficial.
Microsoft, AWS, or Azure data/AI certifications are beneficial.
Certification in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or Applied Statistics.
