Job Description

Our client in the mining sector is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to support site execution, ensuring that construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, standards, and contractual requirements. This role operates within an Owner's Team environment, working closely with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary teams on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Execution & Supervision
    • Support day to day site oversight, supervising contractors and labour to ensure safe and compliant execution of works.
    • Monitor construction activities against approved drawings, specifications, and latest revisions.
    • Identify and elevate discrepancies, non conformances, and quality issues.
    • Ensure subcontractors adhere to method statements, procedures, and project standards.
  • Planning & Coordination
    • Assist with daily planning and coordination of site activities, including tools, plant, and resources.
    • Support look ahead planning and contribute to resolving site constraints.
    • Maintain effective coordination with EPC contractor teams and internal project disciplines.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Conduct site inspections and surveillance in line with ITPs and project quality requirements.
    • Support QA/QC processes, ensuring materials and workmanship meet required standards.
    • Participate in Mechanical Completion (MC) walk downs and punch list close outs.
    • Verify that all construction documentation (e.g., drawings, procedures) is current and approved.
  • Technical & Documentation Support
    • Track and assist with technical queries and documentation, including MoC, TQs, SQs, and DVRs.
    • Support field engineers with redline mark ups and as built data collection.
    • Ensure manufacturing and quality records are maintained and up to date.
  • HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)
    • Conduct daily site safety inspections and walk downs.
    • Identify and report unsafe acts and conditions, ensuring immediate corrective actions.
    • Support implementation of site HSE plans and compliance with project safety standards.
  • Reporting
    • Prepare daily and weekly site reports, highlighting progress, risks, and constraints.
    • Provide input into project reporting, including performance tracking and issue escalation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in infrastructure or mining project environments.
  • At least 8 years in site execution / field supervision roles.
  • Proven experience working on large scale construction or mining projects (EPCM/EPC environments preferred).
  • Experience in Mechanical Completion and commissioning phases advantageous.
  • Africa project experience highly preferred; international experience beneficial.
  • Technical Qualification (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or related discipline).
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NOSA, SAMTRAC, NEBOSH) advantageous.
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Construction methodologies and site execution.
  • QA/QC processes and ITPs.
  • Engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with mining or bulk infrastructure environments preferred.
  • Willingness to work site based and extended hours as required by project demands.
