Shift Quality Technician

Overall ResponsibilityThe Shift Quality Technician collaborates with the production team leaders to ensure that all quality related company procedures are adhered to, and products meet internal quality standards.
Focus Area 1 Quality Governance- Collaborating with team leaders and operators to verify production related checks.
- Conduct verification checks & inspections on shop floor.
- Responsible for assessing all materials not conforming to company standards and ensuring the quarantine thereof. This includes raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods.
- Ensure that production activities comply with food safety standards.
- Own, maintain and report level 1 quality parameters.
- Reporting must be timely and accurate.
- Collaborate with production staff to identify training needs.
- Conduct training and assessments of shift operators required to carry out QC analysis.
- Ensure Lab equipment are maintained and in good operational state.
- Provides first level problem solving support for all lab instruments used for quality at source analysis.
- Supports in implementation of Quality pillar requirements.
- Support and complies with SHE pillar requirements.
- Participate in problem solving activities.
- Support the quality 5S drive.
- Minimum NSC / Matric Certificate with ideally core in Maths, Biology, Science
- Tertiary degree/diploma in food science, microbiology, analytical or related field.
- Minimum of one year experience in a FMCG environment
