Service Technician - Field
Job Description
Build and return fit-for-service rockdrill and hydraulic units through disciplined strip-down, inspection, precision measurement, and high-standard assembly. Support field service when required-fault-finding, repairs, and recommissioning on-site-then feed learnings back into workshop standards to prevent repeat failures and drive continuous improvement.
Your mission- Rebuilds & Repairs: Strip, inspect, assess, rebuild, and assemble mining equipment and components with precision.
- Diagnostics: Identify mechanical and hydraulic faults, conduct failure analysis, and apply effective repair solutions.
- Hydraulic Systems: Confidently work on hydraulic equipment, ensuring correct assembly practices and performance verification.
- Rockdrill/Drifter Expertise: Rebuild and troubleshoot rockdrills/drifters, ensuring quality meets internal and operational standards.
- Drill Rig Exposure: Apply knowledge of drill rig operations to translate field symptoms into workshop diagnostics.
- Safety & Documentation: Adhere to safety standards, maintain tools/work areas, and complete accurate job cards and inspection records.
- Teamwork & Support: Meet production targets, mentor mid-level staff, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Drill Rig experience on Sandvik and Epiroc machines
- Strong rebuild experience in mining equipment and hydraulic systems
- Rockdrill/drifter rebuild experience strongly preferred
- Underground experience added advantage
