This is a pivotal role for a commercially sharp designer who understands fast-scaling digital businesses, regulated environments, and the pace of the online betting industry. You will act as a strategic design partner to product and engineering, ensuring the organisation is positioned for sustainable growth through high-performing, conversion-led user experiences.

The Opportunity

As Senior UX/UI Designer, you will take ownership of end-to-end experience design across sportsbook and casino journeys, from discovery and research to prototyping and delivery. You will play a central role in shaping player experience, improving conversion and retention, and maintaining consistent design standards across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall UX/UI approach, planning, and execution aligned to product growth objectives
  • Oversee end-to-end experience design across onboarding, deposits, betting, casino gameplay, and withdrawals
  • Deliver accurate, timely design outputs to product and engineering with clear specs, prototypes, and interaction logic
  • Drive UX performance analysis, usability testing, and conversion optimisation initiatives
  • Ensure strong design governance, design-system consistency, and accessibility standards within a regulated environment
  • Manage design stakeholder inputs across product, compliance, operations, and commercial teams
  • Partner with product and engineering to deliver high-quality releases with clear acceptance criteria
  • Oversee iterative design improvements using player feedback, analytics insights, and experiment outcomes
  • Mentor and uplift broader UX/UI capability as the organisation expands
  • Support new market entry initiatives including localisation, content constraints, and UX compliance requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior UX/UI design role (Senior Designer / Lead Designer) on consumer digital products
  • Strong UX/UI experience within high-transaction environments (iGaming, fintech, eCommerce, trading, subscriptions)
  • Deep expertise in UX workflows, UI craft, interaction design, and design systems
  • Experience operating in regulated or high-compliance environments
  • Strong collaboration capability with product managers and engineers in agile teams
  • Advanced capability in Figma (systems, prototyping) and documentation for handover
  • Demonstrable experience improving funnels (conversion, activation, retention) through design
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively

Why This Role

  • Strategic exposure across sportsbook, casino, and payments experiences
  • Opportunity to build and shape a mature design system and UX practice
  • Competitive compensation and performance incentives
  • Cape Town-based role within a high-performance, innovation-focused environment

If you are a commercially minded UX/UI leader who wants to design experiences that materially move conversion and retention in a high-volume environment, this role offers a rare opportunity to shape a top-tier betting product.
