Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the cost management and commercial aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of construction procurement, contract management, and cost control to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage quantity surveying activities on multiple high-end residential and heritage projects.
- Prepare, review, and oversee tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost estimates.
- Monitor and control project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Negotiate contracts, variations, and final accounts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and resolve commercial disputes.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to support project success.
- Mentor junior and graduate quantity surveyors, providing guidance and professional development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
- BTech or BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in private residential and/or heritage construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of South African construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Projects, and QS software such as CCS Candy (advantageous).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
- Results-driven and highly organised professional with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior staff.
