Senior Process Engineer (Water)
Job Description
Our South Africa team is currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer with experience on water projects to join our dynamic team working on innovative and exciting infrastructure projects in South Africa and globally.
Role SummaryAs a key member of the team, you will provide technical support for feasibility studies, investigations, and project inputs, answer technical queries and contribute to holistic solution designs. Your expert knowledge and integrated designs will be crucial to the successful and timely execution of projects.
Responsibilities- Develop and review process designs for potable water and wastewater treatment, reuse, and industrial effluent schemes.
- Produce and check mass balances, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and process data sheets.
- Support hazard and operability reviews and risk assessments, and close out actions.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and CAPEX and OPEX estimates to support decisions.
- Provide construction and commissioning support, including site visits and responses to technical queries.
- Line management responsibilities, providing support to engineers and early career staff.
- Qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar (BEng, BSc Eng, BEng Tech, BTech, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent).
- Professional registration with ECSA or an equivalent institution, or actively working towards registration.
- Demonstrated post registration expertise in a process design engineering role, ideally in a consulting environment or working closely with a consultancy.
- Experience with process modelling and analysis tools such as BioWin, GPS X, or similar.
- Good knowledge of potable water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies, including advanced treatment and reuse such as desalination, potable reuse, membrane systems, or similar.
