Incomar Dynamics, a subsidiary within the Incomar group of companies, is seeking a motivated individual to take up a role within the Incomar Dynamics Division to support the Mechanical Engineering activities of the company. This individual will report directly to the Head of Mechanical Engineering.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant related tertiary qualification.
- Police clearance certificate (required prior to commencement of employment).
- 8+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience (preferably in an aerospace environment).
- Proven expertise as an engineer in your field.
- Knowledge or experience in MCAD modelling, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing.
- Knowledge or experience in the checking and approval of technical 2D drawings for manufacturing release.
- Knowledge or experience in thermal modelling and calculation.
- Knowledge or experience in structural analysis and calculation.
- Mechanical design, manufacturing, product development & qualification skills.
- Product development and system engineering skills involving all aspects of the "V" life cycle and the system engineering management process.
- Configuration and product lifecycle management skills.
- Knowledge of applicable standards related to your field (e.g., MIL-STDs, ISO, RTCA & Civil Aviation standards).
- Proficient in required design, simulation & analysis packages (e.g., Solidworks, CATIA, Ansys (Mechanical & Fluent), MSCOne, MS Visio, MATLAB & Other simulation tools).
- Experience in technical report writing.
- Experience in fault finding activities of mechanical systems and solution proposals.
- Experience in the aerospace, automotive, electronics, or precision engineering sectors is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and drafting (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experienced in structural analysis using Ansys Mechanical and/or MSCOne.
- Experienced in thermal analysis of avionics and other systems using Ansys Fluent & Icepak.
- Knowledge or experience in the RTCA DO-254 design process.
- Knowledge or experience in hardware environmental qualification to military and civilian standards (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc).
- Knowledge of aircraft certification standards (FAR & CS).
- The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be required to perform the following tasks as required by allocated projects:
- Mechanical design of parts and systems including CAD and drafting.
- Structural and thermal analysis of parts and systems.
- Generation of design documentation.
- Generation of test plans and test reports.
- Performing structural / functional testing.
- Ensuring design compliance against requirements and applicable standards.
- Provide input into new and existing company processes.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage continuous improvement activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communicator.

- Conducting development according to the "V" product life cycle and system engineering management process.
- Performing mechanical design activities, including thermal and stress design aspects.
- Writing and maintaining specifications related to mechanical development activities and items.
- Writing and maintaining mechanical item test and verification documentation.
- Perform, execute, and document mechanical compliance, verification, validation, and qualification activities.
- Configuration and configuration management of the mechanical system, sub-system, and item designs.
- Simulation, data analysis, and report writing applicable to allocated tasks.
- Problem-solving and solution proposals for Mechanical systems.
- Liaising and supporting other disciplines and technical staff.
- Technical report writing.
- Ensuring that customer requirements and applicable standards are met.
- Assisting with cost and time estimates for engineering tasks/projects.
- Planning and executing tasks within agreed to budgets and timescales.
- Contribute towards the improvement and elaboration of mechanical design and development processes & tools.
