The person will be required to lecture subjects on the undergraduate programmes such as the Bachelors, Diploma, Honours and the Masters in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering with research supervision of postgraduate students.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- A doctorate in Electrical Engineering specialising in Power Systems and Machine Drives. All underpinning qualifications must be in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 4 years lecturing experience at the higher education level or 4 years related industry experience at the senior level or a combination of the two.
- Demonstrable evidence of publications (peer reviewed) in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- Track record of successful postgraduate supervision.
- Evidence of appropriate academic and research leadership.
- Must be registered with ECSA Professional Body or must be willing to register within 12 months of employment.
- A Masters qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering. All underpinning qualifications must be in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
- At least 2 years lecturing experience at the higher education level or 2 years related industry experience or a combination of the two.
- Must have lectured Electrical Power Engineering subjects.
- Track record of successful undergraduate supervision.
- Evidence of incorporating teaching & learning and research outcomes into academic project.
- Registration for Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Must be registered with ECSA Professional Body or must be willing to register within 12 months of employment.
- All underpinning qualifications must be listed on the application.
- Preparation and lecturing of courses for the postgraduate programme MEng and BET Honours.
- Curriculum and programme development for the MEng and BET Honours.
- Assessment and academic development.
- Initiation and development of subject material.
- Contribution to team teaching and research programmes and to their administration.
- Conducting research and generating research output.
- Supervision of postgraduate students (Honours, Masters Doctorate level).
- Developing innovative research, teaching and learning methods and materials.
