Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious, high-calibreSenior Financial Managerwho is ready to take a career-defining step toward Finance Director leadership.

This role offers full ownership of the finance function within a fast-growingB2B SaaS environment, with meaningful exposure to executive decision-making, board reporting, investment readiness, tax structuring, and strategic growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate is already operating at a senior level - leading a team and managing the end-to-end finance function - and is now seeking greater strategic influence, executive visibility, and a clear pathway toward FD/CFO responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

1. Finance Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Foster accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Allocate responsibilities effectively and ensure delivery against deadlines
  • Build a scalable finance function aligned to business growth
2. End-to-End Financial Management

Own and oversee the full finance function, including:

  • Monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity variance analysis
  • Oversight of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and client billing
  • Insurance and risk-related financial oversight
  • Internal controls, governance, and financial accuracy
  • Development of scalable processes suitable for a growing SaaS business

Ensure the integrity, completeness, and timeliness of all financial information.

3. Treasury, Liquidity & Working Capital
  • Monitor liquidity and working capital across multiple entities and currencies
  • Manage banking relationships and payment partner administration
  • Maintain compliance documentation and financial risk controls
4. Strategic Finance & Commercial Business Partnering
  • Act as a key financial advisor to the executive team
  • Lead financial OKRs and performance tracking
  • Drive scenario modelling and strategic financial analysis
  • Prepare board-level reporting and present financial insights
  • Monitor and enhance investment readiness, preparing for due diligence and investor scrutiny
  • Identify financial risks, opportunities, and performance trends
5. Tax, Compliance & Structuring
  • Own tax compliance (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, and statutory submissions)
  • Design and oversee tax structuring to support scalable growth
  • Provide input into group structuring and cross-border considerations
  • Liaise with SARS and external advisors
  • Manage audit processes and relationships with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
6. Financial Reporting, Systems & Automation
  • Own management accounts, reporting frameworks, and board packs
  • Design and maintain financial dashboards (including SaaS metrics, cash flow, and performance indicators)
  • Drive real-time financial visibility for executive decision-making
  • Lead finance automation and process optimisation initiatives
  • Evaluate and implement finance systems, tools, and controls
  • Strengthen data-driven reporting capabilities
Minimum Requirements
  • 8-10+ years post-qualification experience within fintech, financial services, SaaS, or another fast-paced, regulated environment (essential)
  • CA(SA) or ACMA, CGMA (CIMA) qualification (essential)
  • Registered Tax Practitioner (essential)
  • Exposure to multi-entity and multi-currency environments (essential)
  • Experience within B2B SaaS preferred
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability (essential)
  • Exposure to modern finance/data tools (SQL, Python, BI platforms) (essential)
