IntroductionArcelorMittal South Africa is hiring for a Senior Engineer Process Lead Energy Distribution - Primary Operations - Vanderbijlpark (S3)
Responsibilities and Requirements
Develop periodically the operational objectives and key performance indicators for asset utilisation and capacity maximization for each equipment and/or process within the department.Applies scientific and engineering knowledge in support of Production, Maintenance and Equipment reliability with emphasis on process reliability and predictability.
Implement process parameter controls and monitor daily. Initiate and managing actions to prevent/correct deviations.
Develop documented SOP's, SWP's and Job cards in conjunction with Zone members and provide focus on process reliability. Do audits on SOP's, SWP's and process Job cards.
Implement management of change
Facilitate and lead in RCA investigation for process deviations and equipment failures
Ensure proper maintenance philosophy and strategies are developed and rolled out to relevant plants.
Lead, coach, and mentor team members.
Not afraid of heights or confined spaces.
Lead Capital projects; and organize and negotiate the allocation of resources.
Apply agile methodology in the design of solutions to support the AMSA business transformation.
Oversee all reports and documentation related to system support and projects in the environment.
Conduct system feasibility studies and testing.
Technically support AMSA plants and projects as and when required.
Experience and Requirements:
- 5-8 years' experience in Process or Reliability Engineering
- 5 years' experience working in the Steel Industry will be an advantage
- Exposure to utility generation/distribution/treatment (steam, compressed air, power, water, electricity) will be advantageous
- Exposure to integrated utility distribution systems will be advantageous
- Excellent understanding and application of project management principles
- Experience in preventative maintenance processes, condition monitoring, Root-Cause Analysis, risk management, etc.
- Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
- Applicable BEng in Mechanical/Electrical degree NQF 7
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
