Senior Associate / Junior Partner (Conveyancing)

A well-established legal firm based in Umhlanga, Durban is seeking a Senior Associate / Junior Partner to take ownership of complex conveyancing matters while mentoring a team and contributing to the growth of the department.

WHAT YOU WILL DO- Manage the full conveyancing process from instruction through to registration
- Draft and review commercial bonds (mortgage and notarial) for major financial institutions
- Handle property transfers, bond registrations, and cancellations
- Manage complex transactions including subdivisions, consolidations, and sectional title registers
- Ensure compliance with property laws, regulations, and FICA requirements
- Liaise with clients, banks, and relevant stakeholders
- Act as a key point of contact for complex property matters
- Supervise and mentor conveyancing paralegals and candidate attorneys
- Assist in building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Contribute to the growth and success of the conveyancing department
- LLB Degree
- Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer
- 5-10 years' experience in a conveyancing environment
- Strong knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures
- Ability to manage high volumes of transactions
- Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Proficiency in MS Office and conveyancing software (e.g. LexisNexis, Stordoc or similar)
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Own transport
