ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you an experienced Conveyancer ready to step into a senior, leadership-driven role?

A well-established legal firm based in Umhlanga, Durban is seeking a Senior Associate / Junior Partner to take ownership of complex conveyancing matters while mentoring a team and contributing to the growth of the department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven legal professional looking to combine technical expertise with strategic input and client engagement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Manage the full conveyancing process from instruction through to registration
  • Draft and review commercial bonds (mortgage and notarial) for major financial institutions
  • Handle property transfers, bond registrations, and cancellations
  • Manage complex transactions including subdivisions, consolidations, and sectional title registers
  • Ensure compliance with property laws, regulations, and FICA requirements
  • Liaise with clients, banks, and relevant stakeholders
  • Act as a key point of contact for complex property matters
  • Supervise and mentor conveyancing paralegals and candidate attorneys
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the conveyancing department
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • LLB Degree
  • Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer
  • 5-10 years' experience in a conveyancing environment
  • Strong knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures
  • Ability to manage high volumes of transactions
  • Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents
  • Proficiency in MS Office and conveyancing software (e.g. LexisNexis, Stordoc or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Own transport
