Job Description

Our client is seeking an Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter that will be based at the Phillipi, Cape Town branch.

  • Assist with routine servicing and maintenance of plant, and equipment
  • Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics using basic tools and equipment
  • Inspect equipment for wear, defects, and safety issues
  • Assist with breakdown repairs and emergency call-outs when required
  • Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and maintenance reports
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and safe
  • Comply with company policies, safety standards, and OHSA regulations
  • Work collaboratively with senior Fitters and workshop staff
Requirements
  • N2-N3 Mechanical Engineering or Fitter related qualification
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience working with mechanical equipment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, and components
  • Experience with conveyors and shredders
  • Experience with steel processing plant equipment, trucks and excavators advantages
