The School Governing Body invites applications for the position of Master in Charge of Sport. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate individual to lead and further develop a comprehensive sports programme that promotes participation, excellence, and strong values, while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork and holistic development of the learner in alignment with the ethos of the College.

Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification (advantageous)
  • Tertiary qualification in Sport Science, Physical Education, or Sports Management (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of South African sport structures and regulations
  • 5 - 10 years of Experience in Education of which 5 years' experience in Sports Administration
Requirements
  • Code 10 - Drivers License
  • Ability to develop and implement a strategic sports programme
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills (parents, staff, governing bodies)
  • Represent the school at sports meetings, fixtures and any other events as required by the school
  • Willingness to work outside of working hours, including afternoons, evenings, weekends and tours
  • Passion for building a positive, values-driven sporting culture
Critical Skills & Experience
  • Experience managing sports staff, budgets, equipment procurement and facilities
  • Proven experience in sports leadership and coaching within a school environment
  • Strong knowledge of South African school sport structures and regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sports codes, fixtures, and programmes effectively
  • Commitment to learner development, wellbeing, and inclusive participation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant school, district, provincial and national sporting regulations
  • Implement and monitor health, safety and risk management procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of fixtures, results, injuries and participation
  • Encourage professional development and compliance with safeguarding and child-protection policies
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and emotional intelligence
