The School Governing Body invites applications for the position of Master in Charge of Sport. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate individual to lead and further develop a comprehensive sports programme that promotes participation, excellence, and strong values, while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork and holistic development of the learner in alignment with the ethos of the College.
Qualifications- Teaching qualification (advantageous)
- Tertiary qualification in Sport Science, Physical Education, or Sports Management (advantageous)
- Knowledge of South African sport structures and regulations
- 5 - 10 years of Experience in Education of which 5 years' experience in Sports Administration
- Code 10 - Drivers License
- Ability to develop and implement a strategic sports programme
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills (parents, staff, governing bodies)
- Represent the school at sports meetings, fixtures and any other events as required by the school
- Willingness to work outside of working hours, including afternoons, evenings, weekends and tours
- Passion for building a positive, values-driven sporting culture
- Experience managing sports staff, budgets, equipment procurement and facilities
- Proven experience in sports leadership and coaching within a school environment
- Strong knowledge of South African school sport structures and regulations
- Demonstrated leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple sports codes, fixtures, and programmes effectively
- Commitment to learner development, wellbeing, and inclusive participation
- Ensure compliance with relevant school, district, provincial and national sporting regulations
- Implement and monitor health, safety and risk management procedures
- Maintain accurate records of fixtures, results, injuries and participation
- Encourage professional development and compliance with safeguarding and child-protection policies
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and emotional intelligence
