You will serve as Schneider Electric's official delegate to the Schneider Electric Foundation, leading our social impact strategy across Sub Saharan Africa.Your mission is to transform global sustainability frameworks into high-impact, local initiatives that support youth skilling, education, entrepreneurship, and community development.

This role integrates responsibilities previously spread across East, West, and Southern Africa into one strategic, cluster-wide leadership position.

What You Will Do:

1. Corporate Citizenship Leadership

  • Translate the Schneider Electric Foundation's global strategy into impactful local programs.
  • Lead flagship initiatives such as VolunteerIn, Heart to Heart Contest, Tomorrow Rising Fund, Light It Up, and Giving Tuesday across the SSA region.
  • Represent Schneider Electric at regional and global platforms on sustainability and social innovation.

2. Youth Education & Entrepreneurship

  • Design and manage programs that expand access to TVET, technical training, energy transition skills, and entrepreneurship.
  • Build partnerships with NGOs, governments, schools, universities, and innovation hubs.
  • Scale equipment donation programs and ensure impact measurement using Schneider Electric's tracking tools.

3. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with government ministries, development agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and industry associations.
  • Act as the company's main liaison to the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FSACCI).
  • Represent the company in national, regional, and continental sustainability forums.

4. BBBEE & Socio-Economic Development (South Africa)

  • Lead BBBEE-aligned initiatives focusing on Socio-Economic Development, Skills Development, and Enterprise & Supplier Development.Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Finance to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

5. Program Management & Reporting

  • Oversee planning, budgeting, execution, and evaluation of multi-country programs.
  • Ensure alignment with GRI standards, ESG frameworks, and relevant UN SDGs (4, 7, 8).
  • Produce results-driven impact reports and dashboards.

6. Communications & Advocacy

  • Lead storytelling and visibility campaigns showcasing Schneider Electric's sustainability leadership.
  • Support the development of executive speeches, op-eds, and public engagements.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Education, Sustainability, Economics, Communications, or related fields.
  • 3-5+ years' experience in sustainability, corporate citizenship, youth programs, or social impact across Africa.Proven experience working in Southern Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria.
  • Strong understanding of BBBEE and socio-economic development frameworks.
  • Expertise in TVET ecosystems, youth entrepreneurship, and education-industry partnerships.
  • Experience with M&E, impact reporting, and multi-country program delivery.
  • Excellent communication, partnership-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • PMP/PRINCE2 or M&E certifications are an added bonus.
  • Fluency in English required; French/Portuguese is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% across the region.

  • Compliance with Foundation, sustainability, and BBBEE reporting standards.
  • Strength of partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
