The purpose of this role is to create a scalable sales strategy within the Americas Market and work closely with the Reservations Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales in USA and Canada
  • Plan and determine Sales strategy together with the Head of Sales - Americas
  • To increase and grow Sales into the company Camps and to build on the DMC business
  • Engage on product presentations and training to Operators, and market segments
  • Attending appropriate tradeshows and workshops, individual sales visits to Operator offices
  • Relationship building in the market via sales platforms, calls, webinars, training, presentations, agent educationals
  • Constant communication with agents to assist in closing sales, and ensuring company is top of mind
  • Monitoring of Sales figures, occupancies for the market and identifying where the gaps are for opportunities and growth
  • Assisting reservations with determining lead referrals to Operators for growth of the business
  • Keeping and sending through Operator details for database management
  • Creating new business leads and opportunities within the strategy and growth of the market
  • Maintaining sales pipeline so that sales figures can be effectively monitored and tracked
  • Liaising with the Safari Designers in Reservations to close sales
  • Working with Reservations to build on the operator relationships to ensure we grow the USA & Canadian markets
  • Working with the media and communications team for ideas on story angles that may suit the market, and assisting on some brand campaigns that will generate awareness and sales for companies and the foundation
  • Input into the growth of Strategy for Sales, Foundation, and growth opportunities
  • Input for new ideas for the Great Plains Foundation for conservation and communities

Required Qualifications
  • 5 years' experience in Sales within the Travel Industry
  • Proven travel sales ability, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner, conversing telephonically is an absolute requirement.
  • Must have a sales-driven mentality
  • Be able to drive high sales performance
  • Experience in working within a Reservations and Sales team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
  • Willingness to sometimes work later hours to connect with the USA market.
Location

Cape Town /JHB North

  • Southern Africa and East Africa ( advantage).
  • Individual can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.
