We have an exciting opportunity for a SAIPA Trainee Accountant role to join the 123 Consulting team in Somerset West. The role of a SAIPA Article Clerk is challenging and varied, we're seeking someone who is highly analytical, detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure. The role provides an excellent opportunity for professional development and career growth within the accounting profession.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting with financial reporting and work closely with senior accountants or auditors to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
- Conducting independent reviews and being involved in reviewing various client accounts and ensuring that the financial statements presented are in line with IFRS for SME.
- Bookkeeping and data capturing and processing financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.
- Taxation - assisting with tax compliance and completing tax returns.
- Conducting research and provide insights on financial and accounting matters.
- Client management- interact with clients, responding to queries, and building relationships with them.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, including changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
- Ad hoc tasks - assist with various ad hoc tasks, such as project management, business advisory services, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Completed degree - SAIPA / Accounting Field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical with ability to work well under pressure.
- Diligent, deadline driven and focussed.
- Proficient theoretical and technical background in Accounting, Auditing and Tax.
- Willing, interested and able to continue technical growth to become an industry leader in any of these fields.
- Keen interest in Financial Year End duties such as preparing Annual Financial Statements for clients.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
