Department: Respiratory Therapy
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Additional Requirements: Occasional weekends; Call-in / On-call rotation
Reports To: Director of Respiratory Therapy

Position Summary:
The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Coordinator provides clinical leadership and operational support for respiratory services across multiple departments, including Med Surg, ICU, Nursery, and the Emergency Department. This role oversees daily staffing assignments, supports personnel management, ensures regulatory compliance, and assists the Director of Respiratory Therapy with staff development, performance improvement initiatives, and departmental operations. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a key clinical resource while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory therapy services to Med Surg, ICU, Nursery, and Emergency Department patients
  • Oversee daily staffing assignments and personnel workflow
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for respiratory therapy staff
  • Assist the Director with evaluating staff competencies and ongoing education
  • Collect clinical data and assist with quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate referrals and scheduling for the Sleep Lab
  • Maintain CLIA requirements and ensure competency in all aspects of the Blood Gas Lab
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient care
  • Provide clinical coverage as needed, including on call and weekend support

Qualifications:

  • Credentialed Respiratory Therapist through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Active Mississippi Respiratory Care license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Prior leadership, charge, or coordinator experience preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge across acute care and critical care settings
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
