Job Description
Life Peglerae Hospital is hiring for Registered Nurse - High Care Experienced x5. Based in the High Care Unit, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering uncompromising quality care in line with company strategic objectives and applicable Health/Nursing legislation.
Responsibilities- Providing quality patient care by obtaining the correct information pre-operatively and visiting the patient post-operatively
- Ensuring that the patient is comfortable and assisting the doctor during the surgical procedure
- Providing theatre-specific training and assessing the competence of staff
- Assisting the Unit Manager to monitor normal and overtime hours
- Ensuring the theatre team works according to the scope of practice
- Giving feedback to the Unit Manager to assess optimal performance
- Ensuring the use of personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirements
- Ensuring the disposal of medical waste to effectively control infection
- Attending review and consultative form meetings to maintain healthy relationships with internal stakeholders
- Maintaining a healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the Unit Manager
- General Nursing Degree / Diploma
- Midwifery advantageous
- Registration with SANC
- Vascular experience is essential
- Experience in general and laparoscopic surgery is essential
- Relevant experience and technical skill to meet the critical outputs
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players
- Computer proficiency would be an advantage
