Registered Nurse Cath Lab Qualified

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Cath Lab, based at Life Bayview Private Hospital, reporting to Lettie Swanepoel, Theatre Unit Manager. The successful candidate will assist the surgical team in performing procedures and ensure optimal patient care in line with company and hospital objectives.

• Ensure accurate charging by managing theatre clocking time.
• Ensure consignment stock, equipment, and prosthesis is charged according to policy.
• Manage stock by participating in regular stock taking and controlling consignment stock per local policy.
• Ensure the correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation.
• Obtain correct information pre operatively and visit the patient post operatively.
• Ensure patient comfort and assist the doctor during the procedure.
• Ensure use of personal protective clothing and compliance with ISO requirements.
• Ensure proper disposal of medical waste to control infection.
• Attend review and consultative meetings to maintain healthy relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager.

• Diploma/Degree in nursing with experience in Operating Nursing, ICU or Cathlab.
• Clinical competence in operating theatre nursing (ICU or Cathlab).
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Relevant experience and technical skill to meet the critical outputs.
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its challenges would be an advantage.
• Computer proficiency would be an advantage.
