Reception Porter

A vacancy exists for a Porter, based at Life Roseacres Hospital, reporting to the Reception Supervisor. The purpose of this position is providing a supportive function to the nursing staff in basic delivery of tasks such as transportation of patients as well as supporting the administration department under direct supervision of the Admission Supervisor.

• Providing prompt, courteous service to all patients, staff, doctors, and any other persons
• Safe and professional transporting of patients to wards and other sites
• Delivering of prescriptions, ECG's, X-Rays, as well as any other goods (including stock / stationery), to relevant units/personnel within the hospital.
• Assist nurses in lifting patients.
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment.
• Adhoc duties assigned by Reception Supervisor

• Must have Grade 12
• An enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized individual with initiative and able to handle pressure and heavy lifting
• Able to work shifts (day or night) weekends and overtime as required.
• Must be customer service orientated.
• Teamwork essential.
• Experience within healthcare industry will be advantageous
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
