Quantity Surveyor - Rail / Civils Barrow-in-Furness (Office-Based) 12-Month Contract (Likely Extension)We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client, supporting the commercial delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across construction and civil engineering projects, taking full responsibility for commercial management from tender stage through to final account.
Key Responsibilities- Manage projects commercially from tender through to final account
- Prepare and price tender estimates (small and large projects)
- Maintain and manage costing systems and reporting
- Liaise and negotiate with clients on variations and contractual matters
- Conduct site visits to measure works and assess new tenders
- Review project documentation, identifying risks and requirements
- Prepare monthly payment applications and resolve discrepancies
- Work closely with internal teams and client-side QS professionals
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civils, or infrastructure
- Experience working on rail projects (e.g. Network Rail environments)
- Strong background in estimating, tendering, and programme management
- Solid knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and commercial priorities
