Job Description
Manage & complete own refrigeration projects from receipt of order through commissioning and hand over to the client, whilst controlling and mitigating risks and quality.
Ensure quality, on time delivery, cost management and upkeep of GEA HSE policies and procedures.
Assist Proposal Engineers and Project Sales Manager with costings pertaining to the installation requirements.
Provide feedback to the Proposal Engineer and Project Sales Manager with regards to the financial status and client feedback of each project handed over.
Support the service and service projects organization regarding refrigeration projects.
Provide project overview reports and assist with POC forecast to team leader.
Manage and develop sub contractors and suppliers to keep to GEA QHSE standards.
Ensure sub contractors SLA's are in place and current for each project loaded.
Flag priority creditor payments and cash flow forecasts as required to your team leader.
Ensure projects comply with GEA QHSE regulations and policies and where possible exceed industry standards.
Participate and provide input for HSE to compile risk assessment & method statements.
Compile Gantt charts and shutdown plans for projects.
Transfer and apply learning experience from completed to current and future projects using standardisation and transfer of knowledge.
Transfer technical process knowledge to stakeholders within the organisation for development and innovation.
Safeguard knowledge by guiding and coaching colleagues within the project teams and the engineering departments.
Ensure that all project requests are assigned for maximum efficiency and shortest completion time.
Engage staff within the Project Engineering & Realisation team, i.e. Project Managers, Engineering, Controller, Purchasing & Logistics.
Ensure that all variation orders on projects are collected.
Ensure that projects are completed within the relevant budgets and provide recost reports and monthly job costings to team leader.
Ensure that timesheets are completed weekly for overhead recovery purposes.
Ensure that regular meetings take place with team leader.
Recharge as many billable realisation hours as possible.
Ensure that the monthly invoicing on all projects are completed and submitted to the clients.
Ensure that all invoice payments are followed up and flag upcoming payments with customers to ensure a "Current" Debtors book.
Ensure that projects are 'closed' off and costed to meet financial targets (POC Sales & Margin).
Support that all completed projects are 'Admin Closed 100%' in accordance with the Finance Department requirements.
Conduct close out / lesson's learned feedback sessions with team leader and report for business improvements.
Prepare formal agenda's and minute all discussions to ensure responsibility and timely completion of tasks.
Use the latest and standardised Project Management templates as prescribed.
Attend to client queries & complaints to promote satisfaction levels.
Perform Quality inspections on project sites.
Identify training needs to head of projects engineering & realisation.
Ensure personal HSE certification is always up to date.
Coordinate overall Responsibility for project essential activities incl.: Project programming, Engineering, Ordering, Expediting, Installation, Commissioning, Drawings, Cost Control & Reporting.
Document all project progress meetings held.
Actively report to the engineering team regarding engineering related issues.
Actively report to team lead regarding work related issues.
Ensure project documentation is finalised, signed off and archived in the prescribed locations.
Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
Your profile and qualifications- Minimum tertiary qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Diploma
- 5 years working experience
