Job Summary
The Sustainability Business Unit is seeking to employ a consultant. This role will suit candidates who enjoy working close to complex projects and clients, and who want to develop consulting and advisory skills in a real world delivery environment.
This role focuses on the integration and alignment of people, information, and decision making across project teams and clients. While formal project management functions (such as scheduling, cost control, and document control) sit elsewhere, the consultant supports the project by ensuring clarity, consistency, and momentum in how the project is experienced by clients and stakeholders. The role creates capacity for senior consultants to focus on strategic advisory, client relationships, and high level engagement by taking ownership of core delivery, coordination, and client facing support activities. The incumbent must be adept at providing both administrative and strategic support to the leadership and project teams, enabling the smooth coordination of multiple project and advisory deliverables. The role requires strong capability in organising, structuring, and maintaining high quality information, documentation, and records to support complex client engagements and internal decision making. The incumbent will coordinate high level client interactions, track actions and outputs, manage large volumes of project and stakeholder data, and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Support
- Support senior consultants with day to day delivery activities across complex projects
- Assist in coordinating inputs across multi disciplinary technical teams
- Prepare and maintain project outputs that support decision making and progress tracking, including:
- Client ready presentations
- Progress and status updates
- Briefing notes and summaries
- Capture, track, and follow up on actions, decisions, and key risks arising from project meetings
Client & Account Support
- Support account management activities by ensuring consistent, professional engagement with clients
- Assist with preparation for client meetings, reviews, and steering committees
- Help ensure clients have clear visibility of project progress, key decisions, and next steps
- Contribute to maintaining strong client confidence in the project team and Zutari's delivery approach
Stakeholder & Engagement Support
- Support the planning and delivery of project meetings, workshops, and engagement sessions
- Assist with preparation of materials, coordination of participants, and documentation of outcomes
- Support facilitation by capturing inputs, synthesising discussions, and tracking agreed actions
- Help manage stakeholder inputs to ensure they are appropriately considered and integrated
Integration, Alignment & Quality
- Help ensure project information is aligned across teams and client interfaces
- Act as a connector between technical specialists, project managers, and clients by helping translate complex information into clear, decision ready outputs
- Support quality assurance of project outputs to ensure they meet professional and client standards
Learning & Development
- Develop foundational consulting, client advisory, and -advisory, and project capabilities through hands on learning and collaboration with senior team members.
- Progressively assume accountability for clearly defined components of project delivery and client support, demonstrating increasing independence and professional judgment.
- Build exposure to and understanding of large scale engineering and infrastructure project environments, contributing to effective coordination and delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Business, Economics, Communication, Development Studies, Stakeholder Engagement or similar)
- 2 4+ years' experience in consulting, project support, professional services, or complex organisational environments
- Exposure to infrastructure, engineering, or advisory environments will be advantageous
Skills
- Strong analytical, structuring, and synthesis skills
- Strong written and verbal communication to prepare client ready presentations, summaries, status updates, and briefing notes.
- Proficiency in preparing session materials, coordinating participants, capturing workshop outcomes, and synthesising inputs
- Confidence working with senior professionals and technical experts
- Ability to manage tasks, schedules, and project deliverables, including maintaining action logs, risk registers, and project trackers
- Ensure accuracy in project documentation, meeting notes, risks/actions tracking, and quality checks before outputs go to clients.
- Maintains consistent, professional engagement; supports building client confidence by ensuring clarity of progress, decisions, and next steps
- Works effectively across multidisciplinary teams, acts as a connector between specialists and project managers, and helps maintain alignment in project information.
- Balances multiple tasks, follows through on commitments, and ensures deadlines and quality requirements are met
- Supports quality, identifies inconsistencies early, and contributes to continuously improving project delivery standards.
