DescriptionAs a Management Accountant / Project Accountant within Sumer SOS, part of the Sumer Group, you will support multiple group businesses, delivering high quality financial reporting and insight to drive performance and decision making as well as delivery of specific projects.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will partner closely with stakeholders across group businesses to ensure consistent reporting, strong financial control, and a clear focus on KPI delivery. This role is ideal for someone who can build relationships across teams and bring clarity and structure to a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing monthly management accounts, KPI reports, and financial analysis
- Providing clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic decisions
- Performance tracking against budgets and forecast targets
- Working closely with managers to drive KPI focus and improve performance
- Advising on the financial impact of business activities and decisions
- Managing day-to-day finance operations, including reconciliations, expenses, VAT, and accounts payable/receivable
- Collaborating with the Group FP&A function to ensure alignment with wider reporting and strategy
- Supporting the development and improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls
- Monitoring costs and ensuring spend remains aligned with budgets
Project Accountant required experience may include:
- Supporting the annual budget setting process and ad hoc forecasting
- Dealing with external audit queries
- Short term cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Integration projects arising from business acquisitions
- Implementation of new financial software at a local level
- Lock up improvement projects
You are a commercially aware finance professional who enjoys working across multiple stakeholders and contributing to business performance. You are comfortable operating in a remote set up and building strong working relationships across teams.
- CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a small or growing finance function
- Strong financial planning and analysis capability
- Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confidence in analysing data to support decision-making and manage risk
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving processes
- Power BI experience (desirable)
