Programme Lead (GP)

Click Learning
South African Rand . ZAR 300,000 - 400,000

Job Description

Click Learning is tackling South Africa's education crisis with smart, scalable solutions that make a real difference. We deliver interactive online programmes that boost literacy, numeracy, and digital skills for primary school learners in under resourced communities. By combining technology with on the ground support, we're helping children build the foundations they need for long term success and to build sustainable livelihoods. As a secondary outcome, we create jobs for previously unemployed youth to support in the schools and provide them with skills development to move onto better employment opportunities. We're growing-and we're looking for people who want their work to matter.
This strategic role is designed to re engineer how Click Learning operates at scale. Managing a larger than standard portfolio of 40 to 50 schools, this role moves away from traditional day to day supervision toward a data driven, exception based management model. You will be responsible for 'keeping green schools green' through automation and remote engagement, while using Business Intelligence (BI) to diagnose and intervene in underperforming sites.

Please note that the responsibilities of this position are iterative. We anticipate the scope of the role will evolve in tandem with our organizational needs and project milestones.

What you'll do?

I. Process Development & Remote Scaling
  • Operational Reimagining: Design and document a 'Remote Management Handbook' to manage 40+ schools without losing quality.
  • Automated Flagging: Work with the BI team to build dashboards that trigger automated 'warning' flags and escalation protocols for schools falling below time targets.
  • Remote Engagement: Implement 'push based' engagement strategies, including webinars, bulk communication tools, and remote facilitator coaching to reduce on site travel requirements.
  • Sandbox Innovation: Actively ideate and build new operational workflows rather than simply following existing ones.
II. Data Driven Performance Intervention
  • BI Diagnosis: Translate raw usage data into specific 'prescriptions.' If a school is failing, you identify if the root cause is technical, a skill deficit, or a stakeholder buy in issue.
  • Integrated Training: Assume accountability for training within your portfolio. Deliver targeted, 'bite sized' remediation (1:1 or small group) to close gaps identified by data, leveraging AI focused and pre recorded content.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the 'Click standard' is maintained remotely, intervening physically only when data indicates a critical failure that remote protocols cannot fix.
III. Strategic Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • District Account Management: Operate at a high level with District Officials, using M&E data and 'impact storytelling' to maintain regional buy in.
  • Senior School Relations: Maintain trust with Principals across a wide geography, using automated reporting to keep them informed and accountable.
  • Facilitator Engagement: Shift from 'supervision' to 'engagement,' managing a large remote team of facilitators through centralized communication channels and biometric/automated clock in systems.

Key Performance metrics

  • Portfolio Efficiency: Success in managing 40-50 schools (vs. the standard 25-30) while maintaining target dosage.
  • 'Green Status' Retention: Percentage of portfolio maintained in the 'Green' (high performing) bracket through proactive remote flags.
  • Process Creation: Successful delivery of a documented scalable remote management framework.

What we are looking for?

Experience (8+ Years Required)
  • Remote Management at Scale: Proven experience managing 100+ staff or 40+ remote sites/outlets.
  • Operational Strategy: Experience not just following processes, but building them from scratch.
  • Data/BI Proficiency: Deep experience using dashboards (G Suite, PowerBI, or similar) to drive operational decisions.
  • Education/NGO Sector: Advantageous, but commercial operations experience (e.g., retail area management or tech ops) is highly valued for this specific efficiency focused role.

Our ideal candidate brings the following attributes

  • The 'Architect' Mindset: You enjoy building the plane while flying it. You are comfortable in a 'sandbox' environment where you define your own KPIs.
  • Technical Savvy: High comfort level with EdTech, facial recognition/biometric systems, and AI driven content tools.
  • Communication: Ability to engage a District Director in the morning and troubleshoot with a facilitator in a rural lab in the afternoon.
  • Self Starter: You do not require prescriptive guidelines; you create the guidelines for others to follow.
